"Kid" Elberfeld.
By NORMAN E. BROWN
It took the "Kid" a long time to get there, but he finally made the riffle. Which is to say that Norman Elberfeld, baseball star for nearly three decades, has landed on a pen- nant-winning team. Be managed the Little Rock ball club to a penr nant the past season.
Twenty-eight years ago, when the "Kid" was sixteen years old lie broke into baseball. He starred in the big show for years and then drifted to the minors, first as a player and then ' as a pilot. Several times he depart- ed from a club just before it broke into the pennant-winning column. Last spring he said he would try his hand one more year and that if he failed to cop a flag would quit for good.
As it is he'll probably take a new lease on life and stick half a dozen more years.
