May 1, 1917 - Daily Arkansas Gazette (Little Rock, Arkansas) - Tea Party
SPORTOGRAPH
By BOB PIGUE.
Kid Elberfeld had pink tea served in the boxes at Chattanooga yesterday and Umpire Bill Hart stopped the game long enough to inhale a cup of the beverage.
The Kid a few days ago said that President Baugh was running The Southern League after the order of a pink tea, and the serving of the drink yesterday in Chattanooga is carrying out the idea that the Kid says the president has in mind.
Elberfeld is in strong with Chattanooga fans and they have made up a fund out of which his fines assessed by the league will be paid.
