May Get Elberfeld
McAleer Hopes to Secure New York Player
Norman ("Kid") Elberfeld will most likely become a member of the Nationals before the coming confab of the magnates in New York is over, Jim McAleer, who arrived here early yesterday morning and spent the greater part of the day with President Noyes, believes that such a deal will be made this week.
He intimated that he had been in communication with the New York club and that there appears to be nothing to prevent a swap whereby Elberfeld will come to Washington and play third base. Whether the locals will have to give players or cash has not yet been decided upon and won't be until McAleer gets to New York to talk things over.
Outside of the securing of Elberfeld McAleer has other trades in view.
