Chattanooga Not to Miss Elberfeld
fns of Southern City Not Sorry The Former Climber Goes to Pelicans
Chattanooga, Tenn. Sept. 23 - “We should worry.” This is the attitude of local fandom toward Elberfeld and his inexplicable action in signing with Frank for his 1914 Pelican team after he had verbally agreed to return to the Lookout fold next year.
As a matter of fact, Elberfeld’s persistence in being ejected from the field in game after game grew monotonous to the better element of the fans, who thought the Kid should restrain himself, even if the arbiters did move around him with a chip on their shoulders.
The practical assurance that Dobb’s will pilot the Lookouts next season has also been a source of great solace, as local fans are very optimistic over next year’s prospects, with surplus material of both St. Louis and Detroit to draw from.
