BOBBY REEVES SETS RECORD FOR ASSISTS IN GAME
Washington. D. C., Aug. 9.---Young Robert Reeves, fielding brilliantly for the Nationals Sunday, set an American League record for assists made by a shortstop in a championship game and missed by one only a tie with the major league mark when his day's work included 13 assists
and one putout.
The junior circuit mark eclipsed was that established by Kid Elberfeld who made 12 assists while playing at short for the Tigers in the second game of a double-header on September 2, 1901, Reeves' fine performance thus shattered a record that had stood for nearly 26 years.
