March 26, 1926 - The Chattanooga News (Chattanooga, Tennessee) - Ruth Elberfeld Wins City Athletic Cup - Ruth Elberfeld, younger daughter of Norman ("Kid") Elberfeld, popular manager of the Lookouts, Thursday afternoon was adjudged the best girl athlete at City High school. She was awarded a silver loving cup, following an exhibition held in the school gymnasium. The ability of Ruth Elberfeld to place first in two of the three contests gave her the first rank berth. In the Indian club exercise, she rated third. In the dumbbell contest, Ruth was first while Dorothy Elberfeld, another member of the well-known Elberfeld sisters' basketball quint, took the third place honors. In the wand exercise Ruth Elberfeld placed first.
