The Travelers waded the mud to another victory over the Volunteers today, but the route was considerably longer than that taken Monday. Thirteen innings were required for the the Little Rock outfit to cop, 4-3
The Kid is a Marked Man
It was a sensational finish of a bitterly contested game that was marked by tight pitching, by the mud that covered the field and by another Incident in the troubled career of Norman Elberfeld, the outlawed Traveler manager. Having banished Elberfeld from the field and having refused to reinstate the Kid until be puts up $20 to pay fines assessed against him, the Southern League Officials opened a new attack upon him this afternoon. Bill Brennan, presumably acting under instruction from higher up, chased the Kid from a box in the grandstand.
The Brennan-Elberfeld clash came the eighth inning when Bill observed the Traveler's outlawed manager in conversation with Tony Brottem, acting manager. of the club. Brennan stopped the game until he had persuaded the Kid to settle further up in the stand. This was not an easy matter, but Elberfeld finally gave up hiss front row seat and did the remainder of his managing by well known sign system followed by baseball men.
