Norman "Kid" Elberfeld, one of the most famous of all major league baseball players of yesteryear, is seriously ill in a Chattanooga, Tenn., hospital. Elberfeld, 70, played for many years with the New York Yanks and Washington as shortstop and later was a successful manager in the minors. Elberfeld was known as the "Tabasco Kid."
NOTE: Kid Elberfeld had died earlier in the week, and was only 69 years old.
