Left to Right - Dorothy, Edith, Miriam, Ruth, and Nan Elberfeld. The above was snapped on the last day of their training at Warner park in preparation for the entry in the southeastern A. A. U, swimming meet held last week in Birmingham. In the winter the Elberfeld five play basket ball and in the summer tennis and swimming are their main pursuits. Ruth, the youngest of the five and the most adept at aquatic sports, recently made a good showing in the national A. A. U. swimming meet at the sesquicentennial exposition at Philadelphia.
Ruth won both the diving contest and the 100-yard breast stroke event for women yesterday at Birmingham with Dorothy close behind in the diving and third in the swim. The Elberfeld girls were entered in the Birmingham swim by the Birmingham Athletic club. (B. A. C.)

BIRMINGHAM, Ala., Aug. 28 (AP) Atlanta Athletic club and Pensacola Swimming club were the winners of the men and women, respectively, Southeastern A. A. U. swimming and diving championships at East Lake, here, today. The excellent performance of the Staff sisters, for Pensacola, netted 17 points for the meet, one more point than the Elberfeld sisters could total for the Birmingham Athletic club.
The Atlanta club came through on the performances of Hallman, Murray, Harris, Neyes, Young and McKinstrey, far out-rivaling their rivals. Their points totaled 57 1/2, with the Memphis
Swimming club, with 25, and the B. A. C. team, with 23, behind them, in one- two order.
To win the "Gertrude Ederle" trophy, the Pensacola mermaids swam consistently in the various events. They won one first place and four second places. The B. A. C. mermaids won two firsts. one second and two thirds.
It was really a test between the Staff sisters and the Elberfeld sisters, and the Staff sisters won.
