1911 S74 SILKS
SET INFORMATION
Issued around 1911, these silk fabric collectibles have designs similar to the designs in the T205 Cigarette card set. The silk itself is 2" by 3" and the image is 1 1/4" by 2 3/8". The line work on the silks is in one color only, with colors of blue, red, brown and several variations between red and brown known to exist. The field or stock color is known in white and several pastel tints. The cards are unnumbered but have been numbered and listed by team alphabetical order and then player alphabetical order within the teams in the checklist below. Turkey Red and Old Mill Cigarettes are among the issuers of these silks. These silks were produced in more than one year and in fact may possibly be broken into two distinct sets. Silks with Helmar and Red Sun backs can also be found; although the Red Sun variations seem to be very scarce. White background silks ave valued 25% higher. Silks which still have the paper ad backing attached are worth double the prices listed below.
