1903 - The Detroit Tigers: A Pictorial Celebration of the Greatest Players and Moments in Tigers History
Kid Elberfeld teamed with Kid Gleason to give Detroit an exceptional keystone combination in 1901. "The Tabasco Kid" was a fiery, pint-sized shortstop who hit .310 in his first year with the Tigers. He got caught up in the intraleague wars, but ended up laying for the New York Highlanders in the American League in 1903. (Courtesy of the Burton Historical Collection of the Detroit Public Library.)
