Jack R. Elberfeld,57, formerly of Signal Mountain died Friday morning at his home in Marietta Ga. Mr. Elberfeld had been employed by the Lockheed Aircraft Corps in Marietta for the last seven years. He was a former employee of Ross Meehan Foundries here and the Crane Co He was a member of the Roswell Presbyterian Church. He was a member of Worley Lodge No 601 F&AM and of Alhambra Shrine. He was the son of the late Norman (Kid) Elberfeld, famous big league baseball star and former manager of several ball clubs in the Southern Association including the Chattanooga Lookouts.
Mr. Elberfeld is survived by his Wife Mrs. Elizabeth Elberfeld, Marietta: mother, Mrs. Norman Elberfeld, Signal Mountain: five sisters Misses Nan and Edith Elberfeld, Signal Mountain: Mrs. Don H Overmeyer Chattanooga, Mrs. Bernard B. Blevins, Signal Mountain and Mrs. Curtis A. Walker, Wendell, NC. His body was brought to Chattanooga and is at the National Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at the National Funeral Home, Dr Harry Mercer officiating. Burial will be in Chattanooga Memorial Park.
