SPECIAL DISPATCH TO THE ENQUIRER
Philadelphia, Penn., April 19.—Brownie Elberfeld, whom the Philadelphia team looks upon as the coming great third baseman, is in a bad way. Elberfeld is a Cincinnati boy and has hosts of friends here. He injured his right knee in the bath at Cape May, but continued practice. Returning to this city, he hurt his left knee. To day both knees were encased in plaster of parts, and they will remain so for a week. The doctors here have given the player one month to get well in. It he is not improved in that time, the Philadelphia will drop him. The cartilage of his kneecap slips out.
