MARRIAGE OF MISS PAYNE TO MR. ELBERFELD Ceremony Quietly Solemnized In Pastor's Study Friday Morning
The Interest of many friends centers in the marriage of Miss Page Elizbeth Payne to Jack Elberfeld. The ceremony was quietly solemnized Friday morning at 10:30 o'clock at the home of the Rev Dr. and Mrs. O. E. Gardner in North Chattanooga. Dr Gardner, who was the minister officiant, is pastor of the Northside Presbyterian church. The ceremony was said in the presence of only a few close friends and members of the immediate families of the bridal couple. In keeping with the simplicity of the occasion there were no attendants and no nuptial music. There was an altar fashioned of ferns and flowering plants. The bride wore a becoming costume or pale pink georgette. Her bouquet was of French flowers. Immediately after the ceremony. Mr. Elberfeld left with his bride for a several-week motor trip. Upon their return they will reside in an apartment on Vine Street. For travelling Mrs. Elberfeld wore an early autumn Talleur of brown tones. Her hat was a cloche of felt which matched the shade of the topcoat. The bride is the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry A Payne. She is the sister of little Miss Mary Sue Payne and of Masters Milton Evans and William H Payne. She received her education in the schools here being graduated several seasons ago from Central High school and later attending the Mountain City Business college. Mr. Elberfeld is the only son of Mr. and Mrs. N. A. Elberfeld. He attended the Chattanooga High school, Baylor school, end later the University of Chattanooga. He is in business here now and plans to reside here. He is the brother of Misses Nan, Miriam, Dorothy, Edith and Ruth Elberfeld of this city.
