KID ELBERFELD IN MOBILE ON JOURNEY HOME
Mobile, Ala., Feb. 23.--Norman "Kid" Elberfeld, manager of the Little Rock baseball team, with his family, arrived in Mobile last night via automobile, after spending the winter months on the east and west coasts of Florida. The Kid is strong for the outdoor life, and from the stories related by his interesting family, they have all had a great time on the trip. Manager Elberfeld, in company with Mrs. Elberfeld, Nan, Edith,
'Dorothy, Ruth and Jack Elberfeld, Tim Kelleher, one of his scouts, and Frankie ZoeHers, Little Rock outfielder, are making their headquarters while here at the Mobile County Auto Tourist Club on the Cedar- Point road, near Arlington. They will remain until Saturday.
The tourists are traveling in two cars, a Studebaker and a Ford. They spent much times at Delray,. Fla., on the east coast, leaving there two weeks ago for Sable, Fla., and then around to the west coast to Jacksonville, and through Tallahassee to Pensacola and thence to Fairhope and Mobile.
The Kid wasn't very talkative on the subject of baseball, but he expressed great satisfaction that Mobile won the pennant last season and then brought the Dixie championship to the Southern League. "I told you fellows I'd fix that Memphis club for you at the tail end of the season, and I claim I did," he declared. The Kid was sore because the Memphis club claimed Pitcher Dickerman after personal waivers bad been promised on him, and he swore vengeance. He got it by trimming the Chicks regularly toward the close of the searon at a time when every victory hurt Memphis' chances an enhanced those of the Bears
