DETROIT, Aug. 18.— Sunday baseball was auspiciously ushered in at Bennett Park to-day, a game being played without interference between the New York and Detroit Clubs, the home team winning by a score of 13 to 6. A crowd of 10,000 persons was in attendance, and, although there was not a policeman in uniform on the grounds, perfect order was maintained, and it is believed that Sunday ball will be a regular thing in Detroit next season.
